This is a suggested private itinerary. We confirm the final sequence, visit arrangements and overnight locations in your proposal.

Day 1: Athens to Meteora

Travel north from Athens to Kalambaka or Kastraki, with planned comfort stops. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a first look at Meteora’s landscape from accessible viewpoints. Overnight near Meteora.

Day 2: Meteora, Metsovo and Epirus

Visit selected Meteora monasteries in the morning, then continue towards Metsovo for a village stop. Reach your base in Ioannina or Zagori later in the day. Overnight in the chosen base.

Day 3: Zagori villages, bridges and Vikos viewpoints

Explore a realistic selection of Zagori’s villages and stone bridges, with a Vikos Gorge viewpoint when road and weather conditions allow. Monodendri and villages around central Zagori are possible choices. This is scenic road touring, not a gorge hike. Overnight at your Epirus base.

Day 4: Ioannina and Lake Pamvotida

Spend time in Ioannina’s castle quarter and along the lakefront. The Silversmithing Museum, a lake-island boat trip or another local visit can be added according to your interests and operating arrangements. Overnight at your Epirus base.

Day 5: Return journey or an onward connection

Return to Athens with breaks planned for the longer road journey. Alternatively, finish in Ioannina or request a different onward drop-off. A scenic stop or an extra night can be discussed when we prepare the route.

Suggested overnight plan: 1 night near Meteora · 3 nights in the Ioannina or Zagori area. Accommodation is confirmed separately in your proposal.

• Tailor the journey
  Stay in a traditional Zagori guesthouse, add guided walking or rafting, extend into Tzoumerka, or finish in Ioannina instead of making the long return to Athens.
• Plan for the route
  Mountain roads and viewpoints depend on weather and local conditions. Winter itineraries may need a different sequence. Village lanes and bridges can be uneven. Hiking and river activities require advance arrangement with suitable local providers and are not part of the suggested road itinerary.
• Driver and licensed guiding
  Your driver manages the road journey and shares local insights. You visit archaeological sites and museums independently unless a licensed tourist guide has been arranged. Tell us which visits you would like guided.
• Walking and mobility
  Passengers must transfer to a vehicle seat. Wheelchair storage, boarding assistance and vehicle suitability require advance confirmation. Tell us about walking limitations, strollers and other mobility equipment before booking.
• Dates, pace and overnight stays
  The duration and overnight locations shown are suggestions. Opening hours, travel conditions and your interests may require changes. Daily driving hours and any additions are agreed in your proposal.
• Cancellation
  Athenaos tours and transfers have free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Separately arranged accommodation, admissions and other third-party services follow the conditions stated in your proposal.

• Pickup and final destination
  The suggested journey starts in Athens and returns there on day five. Ending in Ioannina or arranging another onward connection is possible by agreement; tell us before we prepare the proposal.
• Airport or port connections
  Provide your flight or ship details, arrival date and any fixed onward departure. We confirm the meeting point and allow for the road travel required.
• Hotels and daily meetings
  Your driver meets you at the agreed hotel entrance or another accessible point. Each day’s departure time and meeting arrangements are confirmed for your itinerary.
