Delphi & Meteora 2-Day Private Tour from Athens
Duration
- 2 days / 1 night
- Suggested duration · Tailored on enquiry
Journey
- Athens · Delphi · Meteora · Athens
Overview
Bring two of mainland Greece’s most memorable landscapes into one private journey. This two-day Delphi and Meteora tour from Athens pairs the mountain sanctuary of Apollo with the monasteries above Kalambaka, with an overnight stay that gives you a second morning away from the city.
Explore Delphi’s archaeological site and museum on the first day, then continue north to Kalambaka or Kastraki. The second day is devoted to selected Meteora monasteries and viewpoints before the return to Athens. The first day involves substantial driving, so an early departure is recommended; add a third day if you prefer a gentler pace.
Athenaos plans the route around your dates, walking preferences and interests. We can arrange accommodation and a licensed tourist guide on request, or coordinate the journey with hotels you book yourself. Your proposal sets out the services, overnight arrangements and total price before you commit.

Itinerary
This is a suggested private itinerary. We confirm the final sequence, visit arrangements and overnight locations in your proposal.
Day 1: Athens, Delphi and the road to Meteora
Leave Athens early and travel to Delphi, with time planned for the archaeological site and its museum. Pause for a meal break before continuing through central Greece to Kalambaka or Kastraki. If arrival time and conditions allow, enjoy an introductory viewpoint stop. Overnight near Meteora.
Day 2: Meteora monasteries and return to Athens
Visit selected working monasteries, with stops at viewpoints and time around Kastraki or Kalambaka. We choose the monasteries around opening days, access and your preferred walking level. Return to your agreed Athens drop-off point later in the day.
Suggested overnight plan: 1 night in Kalambaka or Kastraki. Accommodation is confirmed separately in your proposal.
Good to Know
- Tailor the journey
Add a night in Delphi or Arachova, include Hosios Loukas, request licensed guiding, or extend the trip with more time at Meteora. - Plan for the route
Delphi has sloping paths and uneven ground; most Meteora monasteries involve steps. Wear comfortable shoes and follow monastery dress requirements. Visits depend on opening days and religious services. Sunset stops are possible only when timing and weather allow. - Driver and licensed guiding
Your driver manages the road journey and shares local insights. You visit archaeological sites and museums independently unless a licensed tourist guide has been arranged. Tell us which visits you would like guided. - Walking and mobility
Passengers must transfer to a vehicle seat. Wheelchair storage, boarding assistance and vehicle suitability require advance confirmation. Tell us about walking limitations, strollers and other mobility equipment before booking. - Dates, pace and overnight stays
The duration and overnight locations shown are suggestions. Opening hours, travel conditions and your interests may require changes. Daily driving hours and any additions are agreed in your proposal. - Cancellation
Athenaos tours and transfers have free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Separately arranged accommodation, admissions and other third-party services follow the conditions stated in your proposal.
Pickup and Drop-off
- Pickup and final destination
The suggested journey starts and ends in Athens. Athens Airport, Piraeus port, a suburban address or a different final destination can be included by agreement when we prepare your proposal. - Airport or port connections
Provide your flight or ship details, arrival date and any fixed onward departure. We confirm the meeting point and allow for the road travel required. - Hotels and daily meetings
Your driver meets you at the agreed hotel entrance or another accessible point. Each day’s departure time and meeting arrangements are confirmed for your itinerary. - Details to send
